The increase in air traffic - albeit temporarily interrupted by the COVID-19 crisis - is leading to a growing gap between airport capacity and demand from airlines and other aircraft operators, the so-called capacity crunch. To meet demand, it is essential to make the best use of existing airport capacity. The most efficient means of doing this is airport coordination.
